Aren't these little fruit jellies the prettiest things. They are from a new city store David Medlow Chocolates at 26 Howey Place.
The bit I loved best was that they taste BETTER than they look. My favourite is the green apple, or was it the mandarin, actually perhaps it was the lychee...

Had not heard about the store, used to buy these at DJ's for years, the packages have changed but I am sure they taste just as good. These is a Swiss pastry shop on Blackburn Road, near Waverley Road and they have always made their own, the blackberry is as dark as night and deliriously delcious and the raspberry is shear heaven, when I am by that way next I will get you some to try and we can compare, strickly for medicinal purposes, I mean is a job and someone has to do it and I think we are just the gals... ReplyDeleteThe store is quite new, its mainly about the chocolates they sell but great chocolates are nearly a dime dozen in Melb. now so the jellies feel very special. They have just started making them in this format, used to be in logs cut into coins, not as pretty.
ReplyDeleteThe Swiss pastry shop sounds very interesting, you can also get hand made jellies dipped in chocolate at Cacao, Laurent the owner makes them to coat in chocolate, the raspberry in dark chocolate is the ultimate.
Perhaps we need a jelly-off-post??? :)
